Join us October 27 - November 1, 2024, along with Kalin and Matt Sheick of Sweetwater Floral for a relaxing week indulging in Sicily's phenomenal flavors, breath-taking panoramas, and abundant terroir.
THE RETREAT
Ricotta, pistachio, almond; Phoenician, Greek, Roman; Byzantine, Baroque, Norman: Sicily's food, wine and architecture is as varied as it is abundant, as rich as its history, as seductive and romantic as its myths.
But let's be honest. While we're all for high-brow travel experiences, we also just want to enjoy ourselves. Without our kids interrupting. Without the stresses of the everyday. Without having to clean up the kitchen, gas up the car, meal plan or change diapers.
We're gonna lounge, we're gonna laugh, we're gonna eat, drink and be merry on this gorgeous getaway designed to fill your senses in every way, in the company of other, fun, fabulous couples, friends, siblings...all of whom will feel like family by the time you leave.
ACCOMMODATION
We'll stay in a stunning 17th century masseria set among lush, flower-filled formal gardens on a huge, 200+ acre country estate situated between Mount Etna and the shimmering Mediterranean Sea. With splendid views of both volcano and sea, the villa, with its palm-shaded courtyard and white-stucco, ivy-draped walls, has twelve plush bedrooms, comfortably accommodating twenty-four people. Each room has its own gorgeous en suite bathroom and there are five additional bathrooms spread out among common spaces.
With several living areas both indoor and out, it's perfect for relaxing and gathering.
The property boasts a large pool, a sauna, Turkish bath as well as an outdoor kitchen and barbecue area. The grounds even has its own chapel and Byzantine ruins!
It's the perfect base from which to explore the surrounding area -- Taormina, Catania (both about a half hour away), Syracuse and Ortigia.
