The Accommodation
Experience Umbrian Countryside Luxury: on a Private Estate
Settle into a private, countryside estate nestled in the rolling Umbrian landscape — our home base for five nights of delightful slow living, crafting and long, meaningful conversations.
The estate consists of a large main villa with several, separate two and three bedroom apartments with their own entrances and kitchens. Each of the apartments are unique, varying in size and bedroom set up. We will utilize one main living area for collective relaxation, conversation and one main kitchen for breakfasts and dinners.

Umbria holds such a special place in my heart. I studied abroad there, and it was one of those seasons of life that changed the way I think about beauty, connection, and what it means to really slow down and enjoy where you are.
I can’t wait to go back—this time bringing an incredible group of women with me. There’s something so special about sharing a place you love with new friends: long dinners, beautiful views, wandering little towns, making things with our hands, laughing until way too late, and putting our phones away long enough to actually soak it all in.
It feels a little bit like coming home—and I truly can’t wait to experience it all with you.

Explore Perugia & Assisi
Discover the enchanting charm of Perugia and Assisi in Umbria, Italy. Perugia, a vibrant hilltop city, is known for its rich history, stunning architecture, and the famous chocolate festival, Eurochocolate. Stroll through its medieval streets, explore the impressive Palazzo dei Priori, and savor local delicacies.
Just a short distance away, Assisi awaits with its serene beauty and spiritual significance. Visit the breathtaking Basilica of St. Francis, a UNESCO World Heritage site, and soak in the peaceful atmosphere that inspired many artists and pilgrims. Together, these two cities offer a perfect blend of culture, history, and breathtaking landscapes. We’ll stay in a boutique five-star hotel located on Perugia’s lively main street, Corso Vannucci.

If you're coming from the US, your best bet is to fly into Rome. We will provide group pick up from Rome Fiumicino on the start date of the retreat. If you are participating in the pre-retreat add-on experience in Perugia, transportation will be provided to the villa from Perugia.

Yes, absolutely. We offer custom, add-on itineraries for those who'd like to spend a few days in Rome, Florence, or even the Amalfi Coast on either end of the trip. Write to us at duende@duenderetreats.com and we'll help with a bespoke itinerary suited to exactly what you're looking for or simply recommend or book your hotel if that’s what you need.

This is an itinerary that would be enjoyable for anyone who likes to eat, laugh, walk, cook, wine taste and relax in like-minded company. (Children under 21 not permitted.)

Yes. Once the trip is confirmed, you’ll automatically be added to a monthly payment plan with the final payment due 100 days prior to the start date of the trip. You can also opt out of the payment plan and pay in full 100 days prior to the trip start date.

Deposits are nonrefundable unless there's a waiting list and someone would like to take your spot. In the case we are able to sell your spot, you will be refunded your deposit, less £250 admin / transaction fees.

The full itinerary will be sent to you about a month prior to departure. If you have specific questions regarding the excursions, please do reach out to us.

If you’re interested in booking, don’t wait! We fully expect to sell out well in advance of our registration closing date, April 3, 2027.
